I am a Licensed Mental Health Professional Associate and the founder of Nurturing & Encouraging Counseling, PLLC. My work is rooted in compassion, cultural awareness, and a deep respect for each person’s lived experience.
I am especially passionate about supporting individuals and families navigating cultural transitions, feelings of loneliness, and the emotional challenges that come with being far from home. I believe therapy should feel safe, collaborative, and responsive to who you are and where you come from.
Originally from Brazil, I have lived in the United States since 2016 and have traveled to several countries. These experiences have deeply shaped my understanding of immigration, identity, and acculturation. I bring this perspective into my work to support individuals and families facing the emotional complexities of adjusting to a new culture.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and completed my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. My goal is to walk alongside you with care and presence—so you don’t have to carry everything alone

I’m not in network with any insurance companies, which means I don’t directly take insurance. Some insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits, in which case they’ll reimburse you for part of what you pay a therapist, even if the therapist isn’t in their network. If that’s the case for you, I’m happy to provide a receipt you can give to your insurance company to get reimbursed.
However at Nurturing & Encouraging Counseling, PLLC is committed to making therapy as accessible as possible. Sliding scale options may be available on a limited basis, depending on availability and individual circumstances.
You are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate under the No Surprises Act. This requires healthcare professionals to provide uninsured or self pay clients a “good faith estimate” for the cost of their health care prior to receiving services. This will show the cost of items or services reasonably expected at the time of your service. If you receive a bill for more than $400 above the estimate, you can dispute the bill.
